I just noticed a TINY "hairline" scratch on the back leather seat. Almost looks likes a strend of hair (blackish/grey colour against the campaign colour seat). Thank God it just a tiny scratch and not a cut. It is noticable if looked at carefully.

Any suggestions on how I might try to hide it and protect it from further damage.

It sounds like you are dealing with only a minor cosmetic problem and not any serious kind of tear. As such I would recommend you just clean and condition the area with something like Lexol's cleaner and Lexol leather conditioner. Sponge on, buff off, enjoy leather scent and feel. Any kind of dye or heavy polishes will cause more damage than good given that the scratch is that minor. Also, if you can find the stuff, use Passier's "Lederbalsam". It should be a yellowish paste that comes in a tin. Its designed for ultra high end equine tack but is absoloutly killer on car leather. It is only a conditioner so clean with Lexol cleaner first then use the Lederbalsam to condition.

You might take a look in the back of a "Jaguar World " magazine (Barnes and Noble, Joseph Beth, etc.) as there are a 1/2 dozen places that offer leather "repair" products, I've used a waterbased one (Product "Scuff's Away") from England on my Porsche that did a great job and I didn't worry about it staining the leather.
