Monarch nozzles, anyone use with WVO?

Guys,

i am contemplating an injector rebuild for my 85 thats soon to get a Frybrid kit. Has anyone used WVO (two tank, properly heated to 180F, filtered, dewatered, etc.) with the Monarch nozzles? Is there any reason they would react better/worse to WVO than any other drop-in replacement nozzle (other than Elsbett)?

Im sending them to bgkast either way. Just a matter of whether its BYO nozzle for me or not :-)

I have read several places that the Monark nozzles are not only good with WVO, they are recommended for WVO. I am still weighing my options, Bio-Diesel or WVO..... Probably Biodiesel.

Yes there are the best. However I use one quart turpentine to 55 gals to raise cetane. Then you can't tell the difference from wvo to #2.

I put together a set for a guy that runs WVO with a slightly higher than stock pop pressure. I have not heard anything back from him though.

The above is a pic of the stock Spray Nozzle. Due to the holes in the tip of the pintel I believe they are more likely to get plugged with carbon than the Monark Spray Nozzles that do not have this hole.
The Injectors that came out of my car and the Injectors that I have pulled from the Junk yard all have had the above holes plugged with carbon.

elsbett uses a flat cut pintle design. as does bosio. and I believe the monarchs are the same.

elsbett also reportedly raises pop pressure- but I am not sure how much...bgkast- how much % higher did you go?

Monarks+wvO=great

I had Sean watts do a set of Monark on my injectors for a two tank WVO Frybridish clone .(Chris Goodwin of Frybrid gets a bad rap as far as I am concerned as he has always assited myself and other WVOer here in South Florida with both parts, useful tips and helpful advise.)

Anyway the difference on my sons 1985 300D "Fried Ride" with Monarks was night and day. Much better improvement. So much so I just sent off a 2nd set of injectors to Sean Watts to be overhauled with Monarks for my 1983 300SD running on WVO

So, what are the advantages/disadvantages of the various brands of nozzles. I am probably doing an injector rebuild this summer.

Thanks,

I use Monark's with my Greasecar kit and they work great. Engine runs much smoother and quieter with them.

Thanks,
The Monarks are excellent quality German made Spray Nozzles that cost in the $20-$23 each plus shipping.

The Bosch Nozzles are in the $27-$30 range and unless you are lucky and get some French or German one get the Made in India ones that from what I have read on this site and other sites do not have a good rep.

Bosio Nozzle offer good quality but I believe are over $40 each.

The last choice I do not know much about is to use the newer Bosch Nozzles Nozzles that are made for the newer Mercedes Engines. These Nozzles do not have that Central hole.

I vote for the Monarks; good quality good price. If you think buying them one of our Members is also a bonus PM C Sean Watts.
He is also the one to ask questions to concerning the use of the newer Bosch Nozzles in the older Engines.

I have installed a set of Indian Bosch nozzles in a set of 606 injectors and they were of good quality. I also was pleased with a set of bosios I installed in a set for a member that provided them, but they run about $50 each now. I primarly use monark nozzles, they seem to be the best bang for the buck.
