I've been told that when you buy a "new" car, it's wise to have the oil changed around 1,000 miles to remove any loose metal "shavings". Is there any validity to this??

Do you burn money to keep warm? Most people follow the factory service schedule(to some degree). Mercedes Benz says to change the oil after 10-12k miles. Rarely do engines have oil related failures when the scheduled services are done. ------------------ MERCEDES BENZ MASTER GUILD TECHNICIAN ASE MASTER TECHNICIAN 27 YEARS M.B. TECH |
