Paint 92 300D Convert from black to light gray? Anyone done this?

92 300D Everything has been redone. The only thing needed is the paint.

I as on the 405 South (60MPH) and a 20 year old in a Lexus with 20+ inch rims hit me. The rims ate my right front door, Rear door to the bumper.

The hood and the trunk have to be sanded down to metal because of spider cracks.

I am considering painting it light gray. The heat in California is awful.

Has anyone done this? Are you happy?

I think it would be crazy to do a color change on a car like that, especially for that reason. Exterior color doesn't have that much impact on the inside termperature of the car, not nearly as much as the interior color and the presence or absence of window tint. Color changes are hard - and very expensive to do them right. Take the cheap route and everything looks horrible - door jambs, engine compartment, etc. If you want a light colored car sell it and buy another one.

Colour Change

Note: I've used the "British" spelling.

Quote for a complete paint scheme change "Glassurit" on a W124,entails
REMOVAL of engine, Etc. $ 6,000.00+ U.S.

I've seen , locally a scheme change on a "911" for $11,000.00 U.S./without
re-assembly."Blanc" as the French would say.'Down to bare metal and build
up from there.
