Nothing to be embarrassed about. I've been collecting tools and equipment for about 44 years. I just have a head start on you.

I am the one that should be embarrassed. If you didn't look very hard you did not notice my old timber frame, corrugated iron hay barn that I turned into a shop. It barely can be classified as shelter.

Have a great day,

I know how you feel. I was sitting in my SDL the other day, I can't wait for spring I really miss driving her. I had her driving so well last Oct, after I replaced tons of parts underneath and did a little trans work. The last day she was out I had her up to 105 with the windows down, Rammstein blasting, ahh nice ride.

I think I will comission her April 14th or the 21st, I am counting the days...

I tagged 95mph real quick last night, I'm so "shocked" at my new shocks (pun intended ) so I had to see how much more stable it was at speed.

I was rocking to Foreigner. The 21st sounds good, it's the birthday of a gal I know.

Well it depends when opening day is. CT opens the freshwater streams and lakes in April. It is easter weekend this year.

We can either take the SDL or my dads F150. We are taking the SDL of course.

The game plan is to keep the SD on the road until April 31 to drive to school. college tends to trash cars so this way the SDL will only see about a week of school.

My new tool

After my Euro 6.9 eBay auction fell apart I decided that i'm going to buy a bead roller and a welder and do it myself.

Welder, cart and gas tank for $150 on craigs list. Not bad in my opinion.

You're really strange . . .

You're really strange, Carrameow. Lucky you found all the rest of us weirdos. We have to stick together. I can't get my cars in the garage for all of the tools and Projects-in-progress that are in there. Nice looking welder.

My son's answer when asked what I could get him for Christmases and birthdays, was, "Things that I can make stuff with." I guess this sickness is hereditary.

This is my new Toy, when I can't sleep, I go down to the garage at 2 in the morning and drink milk and stare at it. I may have even talked to it once or twice, and run my hand over its cold shiney smooth sheet metal....I always wanted to learn to weld, but the kids always needed something, first it was computers, then clothes, then tuition....so I would past by them wistfully and look a their $500 price tags and keep on going. I had enough on my hands to keep me going, like job stress and teenager trouble..
Well I finally own one. I don't feel so guilty about it, I got a discount of almost $200 because Harbor Freight was dropping the Hobart Line, after monkeying with the budget and returning my car stereo, I went and got it..Every other tool I owned has paid for itself, like my Robinaire Vacuum Pump, my Table Saw, my Miter Saw and now, I hope my welder..
Except now I won't go to the Garage to stare at it because I am going to move it inside to my Daughter's empty room...fitting, its my new kid...
And this new child won't talk back. That's pretty sweet. I did some welding in an art class in college, there was a group of us called "The Metal Hogs," I did oxy aceteline(sp) another guy did teeg (tig?) welding we had a blast. Congrats on your new acquisition.
