Rust Removing/Paint Matching

Hey All -

I'm about to embark on a rust destroying mission from God. Have any of you used a product called Permatex Rust Treatment? If so, anything to say about it?

My biggest concern is matching the paint. I'm pretty confident about the small spots, but there is a larger (couple 'o inches long) spot on the back that I'm willing to leave to a pro if I have to. We're talking about a cream colored '84 300TD and I know it's never going to match perfectly. I can live with that. But how do I go about matching 26 year old paint?

Also, I'd like to run this idea past y'all...Once I get all the rust removed from around the wheel wells and get it polished up, I'm thinking about putting some chrome strips (lips, I believe they're called) to protect those areas. Have any of you had experience putting those on? Any tips/advice?
