paint

Not to say you cant paint and do a good job ......I have painted all of my cars.
For the cost of equipment and supplies ...unless your set up...You need to ask yourself is it worth it ? and of course the time, who has time to spare ....?? Also the new laws in this state will require you to be a licensed body shop in order to buy paint thinner etc..
The last car I did was a 1990 Lincoln MKVII LSC/SE....Black on black on black on black...black and black.
I pulled the black trim, bumpers, glass, lights etc....East Side Autobody in Vineland NJ did the paint and coach work ..and a week later......WOW.
Buy the way ...he specializes in Mercedes....
So …really I got a better job in less time And for what I paid for shop time ….that equals a show finish ...
And you can still say...
"Yea...had it done myself..."

I've driven about a million (literally) miles over the years and my favorite "paint job" I saw was in the bad part of town in Louisville, KY. Back around 1991.

Full-size van, totally covered on the OUTSIDE with indoor-outdoor carpet. Could have been covering some horrible work underneath, but the only "logical" reason I ever came up with was...

The owner was obviously a drunk, but could always find his van, even with his eyes closed.
