Paint Color Codes for 98 E-300TD

Is there a reference published on the Web for the colors and color codes used on the 98 & 99 E-300 TD?
The previous owner of my 98 had said the color was "Desert Sand ".....I don't believe that was the correct MB name.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers,

Fred, do you know how to read the paint code info near the radiator?

Also, you can use the VIN decoder to get a complete build list for your car which will indicate interior and exterior colors.

Red face

Use to be able to navigate through the codes on the factory chassis plate near the radiator....but its been a while since I've owned the other two MBs.

I just found the original dealer window sticker in a file the previous owner gave me.
It list the interior as #205 Parchment and the exterior as #702 Smoke Silver.
I did find those two numbers on the chassis plate. The color of the car is more of a champagne color or "desert sand" . I think of a Smoke Silver as a light gray. I should just stop at a MB Dealer and ask them what color this is.....may be it was repainted? I would like to get some touch up paint to match.

Yes, the champagne color was indeed called Smoke Silver. I remember thinking at the time that it was a silly name because the color didn't look anything like either smoke or silver. You can find a reference here:

Rick, Thanks! The paintscratch.com site was very helpful. The color swatches they have on there are right on. I'll order the paint I need right from them. .......I agree..Smoke Silver is not a very good color discription.
