Mobetta, thanks for the images. I've always wanted to see how a Manilla Beige wagon looks like. Hope you don't mind if I keep the pics for reference.

Agree completely with your wife too!

Kyle, I love your car's color! First impression: caramel!! :p

My son just finished the drivers side in his auto body shop class in high school. It is, at best, a 15' paint job. Any closer and all the runs in the clear coat are rather visible. Not the same white as hood, top and passenger side, but when I got it it was dented on both fenders and drivers door was smashed.
White sure isn't sexy, but it is very "Texas summer friendly"!!
This isn't a show car, just a driver. Most folks aren't much closer than 10 to 15 feet anyway........
BTW, love that wagon Mobetta.

I wish I could scan the manilla beige wagon in the 83 book. It is perfect! I just don't want to ruin the binding, but maybe one day I'll scan a picture. It really is nice.

Actually I might prefer the lighter green (pastachio?), as lighter colors are are are so much more forgiving. I've had my black Chevy PU for 27 years, and will never ever own a black vehicle again. I would even say no to a black 240 with manual tranny! That should tell you something......
Yes... The Green 116 is a car I have been looking for as well...... I saw one when I was in high school and wanted it and it was sold before I came back with the money.....

I kind of prefer black for S class cars.... I kind of like the sinister look they have....

My red 240D looks like crap. I was thinking about painting it any color but red (orient red I think)

But looking at the image of John's red 123, WOW I like that!

Although rare, My favorite is Signal Rot. Almost the same but I like even better is that deep red used on the new VW's.

That anthracite grey is one of my favorite MB colors, with black interior it just looks great.

That said, nothing, but NOTHING, beats a Mercedes-Benz in classic sinister black-on-black.

BLACK ON BLACK !!!

My 1976 300D is BLACK ON BLACK and I love it!! It's really sharp and it gets the looks all the time. BLACK is hard to keep clean though.

My vote BLACK ON BLACK

My black-on-black 300CD is nearly impossible to keep clean, and it shows every little imperfection (and there are MANY on a 25-year-old car that has rarely been garaged.)

I am amazed at how much easier it is to keep my smoke silver 400E looking nice than it is to keep the black CD nice.

That said, NOTHING looks better than a black car when it is clean.

My w123 is white on blue int. Having blue kinda limits the colors to silver, black, blue(which imo would be a bit much) and white. A smoky grey would be nice too. I've even thought of a tu-tone with white to the belt molding and a very light grey below.
