My 82 SD is sage green. My family hates it. Everybody wants it black. We are in the Nevada desert so black isn't going to work. I like my light yellow 81 TD, but I saw a 300 TD in a deep royal blue and loved it. I see now that even my orient red 1980 240 D that I thought I hated looks great if it were repainted nice and shiny as some images I have seen here. I really like the color of my putty white 79 240 D. It's a nice practical color for the desert. Bottom line is that if and when they are repainted, the paint will match the original color code. MB's look good whatever color. I will respect the designers that built these cars and leave them as intended.

I like the strange Euro colors. I would do a pea green or orange. (Seriously)

My 240D looked almost identical to bgkast's when I bought it, pastel blue. I have the navy interior, which kinda clashes with my new paint color, house of kolor brandywine, but with the tint it looks like a black interior. I think the maroons, burgundies and dark reds are the best on these cars. Especially with matching hubcaps.

Medium Red

Mr Lincoln (77 300D) still maintains his OE Medium Red (that's what they call it) with the tan interior. All of the above statements about lighter colors are true, but OH, how good he looks when he gets washed, waxed (paint does oxidize badly) and shined. Paint is original, one of these days when SS kicks in I may have him clear coated, getting too old for waxing. I did purchase some 303 and it works wonders on both the 211 dash and Mr Lincoln's dash.

Some of the best paint scheme i have seen are Teal exterior/Olive interior.
Black exterior/White interior. The Burgundy/Tan is also very elegant but less exceptional. I have seen orange/bamboo or pea/avocado that really get heads turning but look more hippie than executive color combos.

I'd go for white personally. It looks pretty good, reflects the sunlight, and the added bonus is that cops seem to ignore white cars. (not that I ever do anything illegal )

Sort of a quasi-thread-jacking, I know, but as long as we're talking about paint, can anyone tell me the name and/or paint code for this color? I saw this photo of a members car here on the ShopForum, but I can't seem to find the original post. Any Ideas?

The color is Caledonia Green. Here is a picture of our '77 before we sold it a month ago. We owned it since '79 when it only had 10K miles on it.

If anyone has got pictures of their 300D in this color or a better CLASSIC color, please post them to make me salivate.
Would you like that in a 1984 300D Euro or a 1985 300D Turbo?

I second this. Mine is a 230CE with the same color combination and the chrome Euro bumpers make it look a lot leaner and more sporty in appearance. Mine has spent most of its life garaged but it needs a good waxing since the paint is oxidized a little. Black really does show off imperfections and the slightest dust.
But it sure does look stunning when just washed.

My favorite 123 color is maple yellow. A real classic. I have owned the most in the ivory though....five or six I would think especially if I get to count the current one twice!

Yes, I know this thread is as old as I am (j/k) but hey! A good idea never gets old..

Lets revisit the coolest colors and the rarest ones as well! I am possibly purchasing a caledonia w123 sedan 240D.. Does anyone else have this color? Would love to see pics of it! Thanks!
