Rear Bumper Removal 1999 SL 500

The rear bumper top side is slilding out of the groove in the body. I guess the problem is the inner bumper is separating from the outer shell.
Question.........How do you remove the bumper assembly from the car?
When it is removed can you now see the inner nut-washers that hold the inner support to the outer bumper?
What special tools are needed to remove the assembly?
If there are other removals prior to the removal of the bumper how is that accomplished?
Your help and answers will be greatly appreciated!!!!!!!!!

I am pretty sure all the fasteners are inside the trunk. Lift the mat and you should see 4 nuts in each lower corner. Once the nuts are off the bumper should pull off.
