Sprung Door

I have a sprung passenger side front door on my son's 300SD. When moving it off a trailer, the door was open, and the door literally was bent back. Is there a relatively easy fix, or is this one out of the range of a DIY'er and best left to a professional? If it needs to go to a pro, any ideas of how much cost to repair?

The door is junk. Cost of repairs will depend on finding a used door at the right price,,, if the A pillar is bent,,, painting,,, etc, etc, etc. If that were a typical insurance repair we would probably be in the 2 to 3K range.

You are going to be dollars ahead and a better fix to hit the salvage yards and pick up a door.

Thumbs up Door I can live with

for a bit. However, the door won't shut - which to me indicates a pillar damage. My main concern right now is to get the a pillar straightened. Is that one a real biggie?

Took advice

and now we have a replacement door on the vehicle. Only, it is black. So, we will get a paint job in the near future, which was needed anyway.
