w116 cowbell need an answer fast....

Ok im painting my w116,its got a larger than a w123 cowbell,a single chrome one,but its ribbeted to the frame,i dont know how to remove it,im priming tonite for a paint job tomorrow early,i need to know asap how to remove the wiper grill or aka the cowbell on my 1980 300sd.Do these ribetts break off,do i re drill them??
should i just paper up the grill and paint around it?? i would preffer to find out how to remove it,please reply or pm me
thanks in advance and happy motoring.

BTW im using glasso paint,single stage,original color code and im doing it in my garage,no sealer.

w115 help update

removing expanding rivets,how do i do that??
i need an answe fast???

ok got em

I took them out with a flat head screwdriver and on the inside trhe little pins fell,i grabbed them,i busted a rivet though.
Problem solved,thanks to all.
