Yeah, details, and some pictures of the door jams and under the hood.

Looks great from that picture.

How did you repair the rust damage right there behind the passenger side turn signal?

How did you paint under the hood? Yank the engine?

No offense but, those wheels are to modern for that car.

Paint looks great from the one pic supplied. Would like to see more pics of the places mentioned. And in the further pics I hope I don't have to look at those wheels again. They are ruining a very nice looking SD........

I'll back you on your choice of rims. Bundts certainly would not have helped.

Jams are done, Still got to do all the under the hood stuff. Maybe in the spring. Haven't even gotten all the interior put back together yet or cut and buffed. Just got it to this point yesterday. Waiting for a snowy day this winter to color sand and buff it all out nice.

I don't particularly care for the wheels either, but they are better than the stockers for me. I got them dirt cheap and thats really the only reason I have them.

Planning on getting some 18" AMG wheels and dropping it a couple inches in the spring.

Rust repair was by replacing the fenders with rust free used OEM fenders. Also changed 2 doors and the hood.

This car started out as a $500 beater. 81 300SD. Started the project about 3 months ago. Started swapping body panels, swapped out the entire interior. 5 weeks ago I parked it and started doing body work(really only had door dings after panel replacement) Stripped all the glass, trim, lights, etc. to paint. All work was done by me and me only. Had assistance reinstalling rear window. This is my daily driver car was getting sick of driving beaters daily so I pimped it out.

I will post more detailed photos when I finish it all sometime next spring. Its on the road now so It won't get much more work done till it snows.

Kitty litter was from the POS Ford parked behind it. The mercedes doesn't need a litter box

When I do paint under the hood, I will do exactly that, pull the engine and remove everything attached underhood. Its really the only way to do it right.

I do like the bundts on some cars but not this one. Rims cost me $150 with nice tires. The price was right and they will work till I can afford the ones I want.

Tip o the hat

Tip of the hat toward a nice overall result!

Was the finish a homegrown effort or a hired gun?
Either way looks good.

I don't mind the wheels... but you did hang onto the old ones, right.

I think I need to clarify my position [like it matters]
I hate Bundts! I think they are just plain, and just plain awful. So my disdain for your replacement wheels isn't for the fact that you need to put the Bundts back on. Just not "those" replacements.
Again, really nice looking job on the paint.....
