My Safelite distributor here in Az uses "Pilkington" glass. I've never had any problems but I think a couple of other posters here didn't care for the brand.
I'd suggest getting the seal from MB. It's kind of a double-edged sword. The installers won't guarantee against leakage using someone else's seal but I'm not all that impressed with their seal. I had them install a window in my '73 280 ($250 including seal) and their seal split in the corner about three months later. They replaced it free and so far so good. I'm having them replace the front WS in my '74 280C BUT I am supplying the seal from MB. The 280 is my daily driver/pickup truck/grocery getter/ dog hauler, etc. but the 280C is my baby! |

Pilkington is an OEM glass supplier for many auto companies. My insurance company just had to spend an extra $100 so I could have a Pilkington windshield with a VW audi logo on it installed in my car rather then the standard one
