190e 2.3 16 valve fenders

Just curious if anyone knows what the difference between regular 190e fenders, and 2.3 16valve fenders is. Is it just holes for fender flares? and are there any good suppliers in Canada

Yes, it's just the holes. The fender flares from the 2.3-16 can be installed on any W201 fender after the holes are drilled.

The only real piece of bodywork that is different is the hood . . . which has slightly different underside bracing towards the rear.

fenders

Thank you for the information!! I've found fenders in Canada, for the regular 190e, for about $65. But the 16valve fenders from mercedes are about $455 dollars a piece, i think if holes are the only difference, i can drill a whole lot of holes for about 750 bucks. Can anyone confirm this? or is there a template of some kind to locate the appropriate location for the fender flare holes??

Huh. Any idea why?

Heh, love American humour (ok you're in Canada but live it up, they're pretty close together from where I'm sitting).

Numerous owners have added the 16 valve bodywork to their non-Cosworth powered W201 and the fender flares were installed by drilling their own holes. While there is a paper template for the rear trunk spoiler, I have not seen one for the fender flares. The best template to use is the flare itself with the molded in bolts.

Well thank you all for the information, as i am new to the MB world any info at all i can find is helpful. For the price difference, I think I'll be buying regular 190e fenders here in the town i live in as they are about 65 dollars or so!! Also has anyone heard of Adsit? they have aftermarket body panels for decent prices, but don't really know about the fit and finish.

I think I've got some aftermarket fenders on mine. One rear is rusty, the other front doesn't seem to fit as the bolt holes don't line up.
If you want the car to look great might I recommend real ones. If it's just a daily beater fake must be the way.
