Paint overspray
I recently had a dent repaired from a parking mishap on my '89 300CE. The body shop that did the work also painted the car on one side to blend and match the paint to the rest of the car. However, I've now noticed that the car has overspray. I can see it on the front window and if I take my hand over the side that was not painted I can feel that the surface is now course. How often does this happen? What is the shop's obligation to me? Should they attempt to fix it or should they pay to take it to a detailing shop? What is involved in removing the overspray?

Removing over spray from glass can be done with windex and a razor blade scraper. From the metal, you can try a clay bar. If that does not work, then you'll have to wet sand and polish.
Talk to the body shop, if that does not work out for you, then take it to a professional detailer.

Clay bar also works wonderfully on windows... However, it should be the shop's responsibility to avoid it. Since they were careless in that regard, I'd assume they'll be careless in removing.
