Rubber conditioning product?

I could swear somebody mentioned a rubber conditioning product in some thread here recently but I can't find it now. Something for window and exterior rubber like bumper inserts etc. Anyone remember it?

That name doesn't ring a bell, but the product looks pretty good. Any others?

Depending on what you are attempting to "recondition" and the intended outcome there are a couple choices.

For sort of cosmetic effects 303 Aerospace is very very good at changing the surface of plastic and rubber and helping to prolong and preserve it.

If your looking to do something like softening the rubber seal around a windsheild or a grommet of some sort, the liberal application of plain USP glycerin will help to soften rubber up after a couple days, if you can do this in a warm place better still.

I haven't tried it yet but I know that peanut butter is recommended for rubber, I was thinking of trying plain peanut oil.

Hey, to each his own. I've heard about the peanut butter thing for years. What I don't get is, if you're going to be taking care of your car, why not just get the sort of products formulated for that purpose? Are you using Tide or Dial soap to wash your car? Mayonnaise to treat your dashboard? It isn't as if this is a one-time, never again in your whole life are you ever going to treat rubber bits on your car ever again sort of a thing, so it's OK to grab whatever's handy to make do! Let's see, maybe Ranch dressing....

Typical Floridian! First thing they do to a nice salad is to drown it with Ranch dressing! Mayonnaise on the dash when EVERYONE knows of the restorative properties of Miracle Whip.

Just kidding. I agree with you. Use the proper products for your needs. Peanut oil is fine for a quick shiner-upper but it won't last.
