1986 190e my problem is the rear door will not fully open. You can open the door half way and no further. I have had the car some 10 years and has always been that way. Was my grandmothers and my dad has said the car has never been in any type of accident . Any ideas

Probably the door check strap. Cheap and easy to replace. When they get old, the balls fall out of their places, but stay in the housing, causing it to jam. I bet it doesn't stay open either, does it? The balls are probably jammed in the front, keep the strap from getting to the end.
