Front fender removal on an '82 300 TD

I have been searching the forum trying to find out how to remove the front fender on my car. I have seen some posts mentioning having to use a torch for part of the process. Where exactly is the torch needed and what for? Is that even going to be an issue with my '82 300 wagon?

For some models, I think they either used a nasty adhesive or they undercoated a seam too heavily, which required a torch for removal of the fender. My '83 didn't have any of that, just bolts and screws. Best thing to do is to go around and unbolt the obvious and then come back if you have trouble.

You shouldn't have any problem with your '82. If you had an '80 or earlier, then you definitely will have that problem.
