Trim pet peave
I think the only thing I have against MB engineering is the window and door belt and frame exterior trim being made out of aluminum. The aluminum is milky looking, which will require polishing and a clear coat when I get ready to paint it soon. Even my 1947 Plymouth Deluxe has stainless steel trim. Why did MB not utilize more quality material?

It's anodized aluminum. You'll have to have it re-plated.
You can by your own kit with varied results or find a metal plating shop in your area. -A

Yah, that trim is just about imposable to restore on the car, at least I haven't found anything that does much good.

Aluminnim is lighter maybe.
I've found that a light polish and some wax will keep it looking nice.

That is one thing that has never bothered me...
The inside window trim that crinkles up from the heat and sun on the other hand...
