That does look good. Can it be topcoated with an automotive paint?

Nope. Under coating use only. It will flex and pop the paint off. I used it under the door sills on a W114 I had is how I know. Pain in the arse to clean off to repaint.

If you want an automotive paint finish - like the rear wheel arches of MBeige's W123 - then have a look at Eastwood products. I find them to be expensive but I haven't found one that doesn't work (yet).
