124 Rocker Rust Repair

Time to fix a "little" rust spot in my 87 300TD

Step1: Remove fender and door.
2: Cut back until you get to solid metal.
3: Go to junkyard with sawzall and generator and cut a HUGE slice off a solid 88 300TE
4: Fit and mig weld in replacement piece.
5: Grind and POR-15 inside and out.

Putting door and fender back now.
Will post more pics soon.

Ed

If you have not secured the vehicle in some type of jig you may very well have some difficulties because the chassis shell can twist and distort some when you cut a corner chunk out like that and it's not supported. Usually this will lead to the door not fitting quite right, might be off just a tiny bit but might be off enough to notice, good luck that's major surgery!
