Late W124 headlight removal
After an exhaustive search and not finding anything on the subject, I am posting this thread.
Can anybody give me an idea what all needs to come off so that I can remove my passenger side handlamp assembly? It appears that the air filter box needs to be removed but not sure what else. I have a new one to replace mine which sustained a cracked lens from a rock hitting it when traveling through TN or GA in Dec. Thanks for any help. Ps: Are there amber colored fog bulbs available for these?

If it's your right one, then yes the air filter box will likely need to be removed to unplug the light and fog, as well as release the tab to allow the corner turn signal lens to come out. Once released the lens will pop out and the bulb socket just twists out of it.
You will then see two screws (hex head) on the outer side of the head light securing it to the body and there will be one on the inside - remove If I remember, I had to loosen the the wiper panel below the light. One screw at each end to get the assembly out. Amber is available. I think it is the amber 1157 with two filaments, but not sure. Are you putting clear corners on it so it will need amber bulbs? When the light are out, its a good chance to clean in there too.

No, I'm not doing the clear corners - at this time anyway. I am referring to the fog light bulbs. I've not had one of these bulbs out but was assuming they are similar to the bulbs used in the w123 - a small, halogen type. But maybe not. I'll look at it though. Is it rather obvious where I will need to release the corner light "tab" or will there need to be some part of the unit that will need to be removed first? Thanks again,
