That sounds like a good plan. However, the area beneath the bumper, when viewed from behind, would look textured. That area doesn't really require the anti stone chip material, so it would look odd especially since a lot of people would see it from behind.
Maybe maintain the "height" of the textured area all the way around, instead of covering a taller section of the rear "apron" ...
