w126 lower body panel delete?
I am in the process of repairing rust damage to my '82 w126 along the lower body trim. The rust originates from the trim tabs holding the panels in place, but only along the top of the panels (the door bottoms are mint) I had the panels off the doors, and pondered the idea of deleting the trim entirely. Has anyone done this? Yes, filling in the holes required.

Be cautious of this if you want the car to look right.
The reason I am saying this is that the plastic panels on the front fenders of my 140 have no metal behind them. There is an open cavity. So unless you are going for the Hummer look on your S class, you may want to check first.
