w210 rear subframe bushing

1996 E300D- Car makes a very loud knocking noise whenever I hit any bump. I hear it from all 4 wheels but primarily from the rear. I took it to my auto shop (great guys who always take care of me) and they said that part of the problem is the rear subframe bushing. They advise me that they cannot fix this. Does anyone have a DIY (if possible) to replace this?

It seems like I saw a good writeup on this with some homemade tools over at Benzworld, but I'm not sure. Check their 210 forum stickies, they are pretty good.

I've seen the write ups, but this still beyond my scope (or I'd rather just pay someone than raise my blood pressure doing it). I need to acquire a tool to have it done by my shop. But, If I'm paying $300 for the tool and then them to do the labor, It would probably be the same amount to just take it to the benz dealer who has the tools already in hand?

I mentioned James Dean because....

.....I recall in his post he got the job done for like $165 & everyone was clamoring to find out who he used so they could take their cars to the shop. PM him.
