compatible (visually / texture) rocker panel coating
was thinking about using this on the inside of rear fender and the rocker panel near the jack point - have already had areas cleaned, some sheet metal/weld work, and primed.
Would this 3m product be a suitable match for hte factory mercedes rocker panel coating? (Not talking about the thick rubber undercoating - just the rocker panel - or are those the same?). If not 3M - is there a product that you've used that is a good texture/thickness match? 3M Rocker Panel Coating, 23 ounce Net Wt / 600g, Grey, 08889 |

In my experience it is more about the person who applies that kind of stuff. I have used different types of "stone chip" and they all seem to come out of the can in a similar way! Apply it too thickly however and you can end up with a kind of pocked marked surface of the moon crater look...

(Sorry - give it a go and see what you think is probably the best way to get your answer)

Thanks stretch. I'll give one a try and experiment. 3M alone has like 12 different cans with slightly different descriptions.

...oh blinking heck...
...last one I used was Motip stone chip - seemed to be OK for the front bit under the bumper on my W123. (Motip is dupont - which might help with a trans-Atlantic translation problems)
