I need to remember my digital camera since my phone's camera stinks. However, I drove my rust bucket 675 miles and I got some pictures to take and some that I have already taken to post on this thread. My car is a good candiate for "who has the most rust and still drives"

I learned a lot of panel beating from Pete Tommasini who also posts on there, First hand.
He would be one of the worlds premier metal shapers. Nothing is too difficult for him. I have seen him weld up diecast metal parts, using rods made from melted down discarded die cast components. Stuff other people have major problems with.
His old co worker ,Tom Peach was an absolute wizard who could make fenders from scratch as though he was just folding up a peice of paper and with just a hammer and bag .no big tools.

I'm guessing the second picture was of the "hand brake"?

That 80 240 looks just like the Brown 80 240 that was at the shop with just as much rust. The seat didn't fall thru the floor, cause it had to make it back to the shop. that car could sit a year with a new battery on a winter day and start on the first glow. Don't know about yours, but this car was a diehard and didn't stop running till it was finally ravaged and scrapped. The flinstone pic would've been a kodak moment for sure.

Would you volunteer to test drive this one?
I know this was a ten year old post, but I would not attempt that in deer season around here that is for sure. Pic's to follow of rusty but trusty.

Rusty holes on Apollo XIII

Attachment 126199I've got some rusty holes. Some of them are more of a problem than others, like the ones that allow rain into the trunk.

I just bought some Miracle Paint and fiberglass cloth to repair body panels. Maybe not the brightest choice, but my reasoning is that I need something that will protect the metal while I drive from Florida to Massachusetts in a couple three months.

Once, back home, in the Bay State, I will have the resources and expert help to fix whatever needs fixing. I am taking my time coming back in my little "motor home," so it needs to be weather tight for the journey.

The Florida repairs need the least expense and time.

Not a big waterproof problem, but big enough to do something with.

This is a real serious problem for me, for I would like to keep my stuff in the trunk dry.

Its too bad i just fixed a bunch of rust and am painting my car because i had all y'all beat, well minus the fact that a P.O. already did the floor pans (probably out of necessity). corners of all the doors are rusted, whole lower quarter panel behind the front wheel was gone, the area at both of the bottoms of the wheel well on both rear tires was rusted straight out till a few inches up, had a hole in the base of the b pillar, had a big spot through the pillar on the right side of the trunk, the trunk was dented, pushed in, and rusting and there were holes all in the front of the hood. good stuff. this photo really does the car justice, it was a good 15 footer but you got close and it was baaaddd, paint faded and cracking in a few spots and all on the flare of the wheel wells.
