Ouch

Hello mb123mercedes
Are you sure you don't live in Michigan.
Egad, that is nasty.
Are you going to repair it?

Yeah, I'm fairly sure that I live in NJ.

The car is originaly from Conneticut so
that could explain some of the rust.

Also at some point in it's life it was hit
right in between the doors.
Not badly but it was poorly fixed so this has
added his share to the rust/rot problem.

Yes, I'm going to repair it.
Only a temp. fix until I can get the $$$$$
together to fix it the correct way.
I live in an apartment.
This means no driveway,no garage and
just the basic tools.
I have very little friends since I don't go out
that much so I don't know anyone with a welder.
If I had the storage capacity I would buy one,but
as said no room to put it.

This isn't the only rust so the bill will run up quickly
if I have it done.
I have to take some more picture of the rest.

It's a 84 stationwagen 300TD.

Louis.

Whunter thats nothing! I wish I took a picture, on my 1988 420SEL parts car I could put my finger threw the front frame rail. The one that comes down in the back of the front wheel wells. Lots of rust on that one!

Imagine what a MB would be like without all the rust prevention coatings that go on every piece of sheetmetal.

luckly it's a w123 turbo other wise I would
have the passenger help propel my nice

Here is my entry in this contest. Notice the B-pillar passenger side. There is more rust in the engine compartment, shock towers, lines ,front bumper and around headlights. I ran out of time to take more pics. I will if this doesn't put me in first place

Pictures here...

You need to post the most serious rust photos. Those are nothing compared to some I've seen driving around the NW.
