Stop Rust!?
Hi all,
I am a former Southerner that has relocated to the North and will soon be living in the Chicago area. My 83 300D has some rust starting on it, and I am wondering what is the best way to stop or hinder the salt from eating my car this winter before I can patch it up and paint it. Winter will be here before I have time to address all the issues with my ride. I know that someone on this forum has got to be an expert on dealing with rust. |

I stayed in Chicago one winter on business and drove my 1988 Honda Accord. At ten years old, some very small rust spots had been lingering without developing much for five years. After that one stinking winter in Chicago the rust had increased in size ten fold. I found that it was very inconvenient to get the car washed often as I normally do here in Iowa. And I was forced to park on the street quite often.
Tough winters there in the big city. The rust can eat you and yours alive!
