95 E320 Paint In Bad Shape
I just found this site recently, what an amazing amount of great info. I just bought my first but the paint is wooped. It looks like it was driven thru the woods when you look up close. Then there are some spots where it looks like the clear is coming up. I dont want to put the money into paint right now. Has anybody had any similar problems and or how can i get like another year without it ending up looking MORE crappy. Thanks.

What color?
My '91 300e has single stage black paint (from the factory). It looked like crap, but after 12 hours of buffing it looks brand new and everyone looks... snap some photos of the places it looks worst and one or two overall... Most cars can be revived if there is paint on the car. -Kyle

I have a 95 E320 that spent most of its life in the SF Bay Area but is now here in Seattle. All the horizontal body surfaces are completely spider webbed. Significant portions of the trunk and hood have gone powdery white and there are 2 large ares on the roof where the paint has completely failed and is down to metal or at least a primer coat (there is no rust).
A detailer called it "extreme sunburn". I want to get a bumper sticker that says "Genuine Mercedes Quality Paint". Quote:
