94 w124 Rust on the Drivers A-Pillar - Pics

I've got this rust on my 94 w124 e320 as pictured. I'm a little wary of attacking this one myself as I know I don't have the tools or skills to repaint correctly.

That said, anyone have an idea of what I should expect to pay to have this little spot fixed? Perhaps I can save some money by removing the trim in the area.

Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

That rust started when someone had the moulding off and the paint got chipped underneath and finally worked it way up around the moulding. I very seldom give firm estimates on rust repair since you never know what is hidden and how bad it is. $200 to $300 dollars should come close though if there are no holes underneath.

Thanks for the information. I suspect that this started when the P.O. had the car resprayed. If I knew any of the history of the car I'd take it back to the place that did the work. Alas..I'll see if I can find a good body shop in the Madison WI area to get an estimate. I read some other threads regarding rust and realize that there shouldn't be a firm price when it comes to rust repair.

Anyone have any suggested body shops in the Madison or SE WI area?

Any information on how to remove those trim pieces to see the extent of the damage?

If you pry very gently from the bottom of the windshield up, the moulding willl come right off.
