Paint reference

I need to paint the bottom part of the body shell, below the doors, of my W124 260E 1988.

It has "anthracit black, ref 199" paint on the body.

I know the paint are matched and cant find the refence of that paint.

Thanks for help.

cc260E,

I think if you visit an Auto Paint Distributor, PPG or DuPont, etc.,(check yellow pages for listings) their records/database will have all the paint codes for you, be able to mix up a spray can/touch-up bottle if you're doing it yourself, or recommend one of their shop customers to do it for you.

The cladding on an 88 is just black plastic - wasn't painted from the factory. If yours have been painted it was done by a previous owner. You'll just have to eyeball it for a match.

thank you all,

deanyel, I am the only owner of the car, it is an European car, the paint is original from factory. and it has never been repainted.

I would like to by it from the dealer but there are several choices is the 7700, the right one?

I believe the rocker panels are painted the same colour as the inside of the trunk. A paint spray can is available, part number A000 986 11 50 7129. Called 129 galinitgrau seidenglanzend.
