Red face '85 300SD repair after a front collision

These days I try to repair my car from a front collison that affected the bumper, bonnet, radiator, front left wing and counter-wing.

Apparently there seemed to be no other problem but today the mechanic told me that there might be a problem with the left wheel not sitting straight (more into a less visible "/" position).

The problem is difficult to see at fist sight but might affect the feel of the car. My question is: from your experience, what would be the best way to go about this issue?

Take it to an alignment shop to determine what the problem is. Something must be bent.
