Thanks I like the car now
Hated the paint the way it was
I use to paint years ago haven't done it in 15 years
The paints of today are great plus spray guns are better
Got alot of parts to put back on
I also got new weather stipping and door seal
they were tired
I also painted all the trunk, hood and door jam areas before doing outer car

Thanks very much
Its tuff doing a big job in the summer too much goung on and hot in the garage
The car came out great
haven't sprayed in 15 years
Silver also is tuff, no room for error to spray
solid colors are nicer to spray
I want to get in on the road again
just got the door trim and seals left
will get some ouside pics
Took that last pic one on the way to work this morning
with my junk camera , lens was dirty

Nice Work! I've painted a few cars, but I'm not sure I would be able to do my '82 380SL justice. It is presently in it's original color, which is the dark gray color, called anthracite, I believe. I like your silver much better, but am not sure whether I should change it's color. I also have a red 450SL, which will someday need fresh paint, but is looking ok for now. I just wish I was as talented as you! What is your color? Do you have the code for it?

Thanks
The color is Astra silver #735

The old paint job was base coated on the trunk ( someone must of slipped with the hard top) and the whole car was cleared
Plus below the molding the paint was original and all the valances were
original
It wasn't bad by the pic attached
but it wasn't great
The new paint loooks great
plus they taped the car instead of removal of chrome
I just could not take it and last fall I started to paint the trunk
After I started I just said paint the whole car and do it right
I happy now but I am 55years old and get tired of the big jobs
lots of time when there is yard work ,house jobs, golf

That looks great, Mike. Your garage looked a little crowded. Was it hard painting without a lot of space around the car?

I bet it drives a lot better with that new paint job. Mine drives better with only a good washing! Paint's gotta make a big improvement.

The garage part where I paint is 14' x 22'
It is enough to paint not a choice i would select
but thats what it is,
I guess it's easier to clean before painting
I am still putting parts back on and polishing chrome pieces
There is a buch of parts on these cars
Thanks for the compliments
