W124 aftermarket bumper for E320
I have a E320 with that needs a front bumper and impact strip. There are many to be had aftermarket. Do these fit well, or do I need to get factory parts?

I replaced the front bumper cover on my 94 E320 wagon with aftermarket parts made by EZ. I wish I had bought OEM. The EZ parts were OK, but I had a hard time getting the wrap around ends of the bumper positioned correctly. The bumper was just a little to wide and I couldn't get the bumper ends pulled in tight enough so that the fender/bumper gap line was correct. Also, the EZ parts were thinner and considerably lighter than the old OEM parts I removed.
EZ would probably be OK if you aren't to picky. For me, next time I'll use OEM. J. M. van Swaay |

As far as the impact strip. I bought a rear one for my 300CE at Performance in Van Nuys Ca. and it was a perfect fit. The finish was a little more grainier than original, but not bad at all. Not sure if it was after market or not, Still, nothing better than original parts.

I just ordered the bumper cover, impact strip, and chrome trim from Carparts Wholesale in southern California for $230 shipped. I'll let you all know how they fit.

Pretty amazing really, I received these in a couple days and they fit fine. I am sure a die hard MBZ specialist can tell the difference but I sure can not. I did have to drill one hole that was missing for the OEM crome trim piece (aftermarket part has less one mounting stud). By the way the impact strip does not include the foam, the bumper does.

Thanks for the update. Were there any identifying marks or labels on the parts you used? I'm trying to determine if your parts were made by the same manufacturer as mine.....
Thanks, J. M. van Swaay |
