Water Draining from Jack Support Tube?

98 W210

I parked the car up hill and I noticed that about 12oz of water dripped out of the drivers side rear jack support tube. I removed the cover and cleaned out some 'muck'. It continued to drip for an hour. On the underside is a boss that also appeared to drip water.

Does anyone have a guess as to where this water comes from and what I need to clean to stop the build-up?

The car does have a sunroof and the good news is that the inside is dry.

I've had a similar problem ...

with my '97 W210. There are a couple of rubber fittings under the rocker panels between the jack points and the wheels. Seems like these get clogged up and if you press on them or insert a screwdriver gently into them water (sometimes a lot of it) runs out after driving in the rain. I have even heard sloshing in there upon application of the brakes. I inquired once before on this forum about the source of the water but got no replies as I remember. Perhaps there is a body shop guy out there who can help us.

I cleaned out the rubber fitting near th rear wheel and I got more water to come out. I had the car at the body shop for 2 weeks and I noticed the 'sloshing' when I got it back. I conclude that the water is entering while the car is parked. Normally it is garaged so I hadn't noticed a problem.
