water entering the trunk
I have an w201 190E 1.8 (93/02), and since the time I bought the car, 4 years ago, I have constantly water in the trunk, I already changed the trunk rubber and the windows rubber, but I think that the water through the water hoses of the sunroof, anyone knows how to verify if the hoses are ok? Or how to reach them? I tried to find any kind of images so I could have an idea, but nothing until now

I wrestled with a simialr problem for a long time. I took out all the trunk linings and used a flashlight to look up into the dark corners. I found faint water mark traces coming in (in my case) on the right side. The water was finding it's way in through a very small hole at the base of the roof gutter. It seemed when the roof gutter was installed a rubber gasket was used in some way. Over time this gasket shrank revealing a small gap between the window framework and the sheet metal of the body.
I also removed the tail light assemblys. Evidence of water coming in from there also had to be stopped. I resealed the assemblies with a generous amount of silicone sealant. The kind that comes in those large tubes needing a caulking gun to dispense. Problem solved. |

I have the same problem with 2 cars, both have leaks in different areas:
1. Replace your trunk lock gasket. Over time it shrinks and leaks, and the emblem above it channels water nicely right onto the lock. When this happens the trunklid gets water in the rear part and you get a bit of a waterfall when you open the trunk. 2. I have seen water marks down the wheel well, but am not sure if the corners of the windshield are leaking, or if it is coming from the roof gutters. 3. The antenna seal can be a culprit too.
