126 trunk lock removal

Long story about this situation, but I tried to drill out the lock and am getting no where!
I know how to remove the lock with the trunk open!
I have read in other forums that say there is a vacum connection under the passenger side carpet. Would this be in the front seat or the rear seat?
any ideas would be appreciated.

Tom

Trunk lock

The best way to get around it is to break out the drivers taillight and take the vacuum line and use it to unlock it. Let me know it that helps.

I drilled a 1/2 " hole all the way through and the used a screw driver to push the release lever to open the trunk. There is a tab located about 1 oclock position that you push to release the latch.
The next time, which I don't think will happen again in my life time. I will drill a 1/8 " hole about 1 oclock thru the plastic cover that sorrunds the lock and the you can use the drill bit to push the tab. The bit needs to about 4 " long. With a hole that small you could easily fill it with some kind of filler.

Thanks for the reply, Tom Wiggins
