Paint Touch-Up on ML320?

So sad.

Last night I realized a huge scratch on the bumper of my ML320.

I think someone bumped into my car at work (our parking lot does not have partitions to avoid bumping cars parked across from each other) OR the valet drivers at my gym messed it up. If I find out that the latter is the case - someone is going to die!

Either way - I'm really upset because now my beautiful black car has (in my opinion) a very conspicuous white scratch in the front of it.

My boyfriend freaked out  when I suggested touching it up with paint.

Can I ruin the car by doing that? I figure if I'm really careful about it I can at least have a solid looking body again......

Should I do it or not?
What kind of paint should I be looking for?

Advice?

If it is not that bad, I would leave it alone or get a pro to do it.

If that white scratch is actually white paint, it will probably rub off. If it does need repainted,, well, how fussy are you gonna be ? To pull a bumper off and refinish it is usually around $400. Touch up is practically nothing, but can't compare it to a professional refinish.

Valet at a gym? I don't get it.
