Changed transmission fluid and filter today and got to have a good peek at whats going on on the undercarriage. Verdict: not good.

The "frame rails" are hopelessly rusting and disturbingly I think theres water inside somewhere. I found water dripping out of the body!

Is there anything I can do to stave off death or is it completely hopeless?

These cars would run forever I think if it weren't for rust. I was silly for buying one with an obvious rust problem (even if it was ridiculously cheap)
