water dripping on my left foot

i have a 83, 300d with a sunroof. nice car from south alabama, no rust anywhere. it has a leak somewhere that makes water drip near the kick panel on the drivers side, on the carpet. rain, washing, etc.

i pulled the windshield and had a glass shop replace the rubber and seal it good, and i inspected the frame myself thinking there may be a nasty looking area somewhere . no problems detected, the windshield frame was as good as new. still leaking. . . . .

i have read that areas around the hood hinge have caused problems from rust, and have inspected that and its also like new.

this brings the question, about the sunroof and its sealing/ draining. . . . the seal is a bit weathered, it seems to close tight and there is no air noise but. . . not knowing how everything is inner connnected up there, is it possible that water is running forward in the channel of the roof stuff and actually running down the windshield post without leaving any water marks in the headliner, and causing the drips ? and what exactly does the seal look like that seals the sun roof ? are there any detailed pictures of it anywhere ? and should a fellow just change it to be certain its not the problem or is it a disaster to try to change ?

anyone with any other ideas ? it certainly is a frustrating problem.

this has been talked about so many times its not even funny. You have a rust hole down in the dark cave where the hood spring attaches to the body.
