Red face W126 rust tiny spots

here is my problem...on the right trunk edge of my 1989 560SEL I discovered about 15 VERY tiny rust spots all bunched together.

What's the best way to deal with this?? Rubbing compond then touch up paint? I've NEVER done any kind of body work before but my budget now requires me too.

Any and all advise would be appreciated.

I take a pic tomorrow and post it in here.

Thanks!!

Not having actually seen it, I would just say you should do whatever it takes to be sure you have completely removed whatever underlying rust is there. A good boy man could probably fix that for you for a reasonable figure if you're not sure about damaging your finish.

I've found that "boy-men" don't have the experience and maturity to do a quality job.

As long as it isn't metallic, he should be able to get a pretty good match. Matching metallic paint is possible, but requires practice as the flake tends to cluster without the proper techniques and/or equipment.

Well, if that's the case, maybe a body man would be better. Geez, I have to start reading the stuff I write before I hit the "Post" button.

That color should make it possible to blend. Get it down to bare metal, POR-15 if you want to, then prime and paint.
