I know this stuff is great - I've used it successfully on some of my projects.

We just discovered that my dad's Toyota has a broken exhaust pipe underneath the car. It's most likely a welding project, but wanted to ask if it's at all a good idea for the JDWeld for this type of repair to just get by - or is the heat from the exhaust too much for that stuff... just wondering.

I've seen that stuff used on the engine block itself, holding for years.

Yeah... but I don't know if the block gets as hot as the exhaust piping... guess we'll find out how it holds up -

You use heat to remove JBWeld so I'd guess the exhaust pipe repair won't work. Weld it.

I use a heat gun to remove JBWeld. It gets a lot hotter than the exhaust pipe does but when you heat it a bit you can see the epoxy changing its properties.

Me either, there is (at least used to be) some exhaust pipe repair kits, of some kind, got one a long time ago, never did use it.

I used one of those kits to fix a broken cat on the BMW. It lasted about two weeks before failing again. If this is a short term fix, you can get the exhaust repair kit at the Autozoo... It has epoxy and a glass bandage you so can fiberglass up a hole or crack.
