This diesel Mercedes is in great condition with a fresh two tone paint job. Just changed the oil and the fuel fitler and adjusted the valves. Runs great. All the gauges work with the exception of the clock and the odometer. Power windows, sunroof, and front seats all work great. My name is Geoff please give me a call (707) 478-5106

UGH!!!! Get rid of the red/orange and make it black...

leathermang 02-26-2010 03:32 PM

I think it would cause many a driver to get a lot of tickets...
everyone's eyes... including the cops... would just naturally be drawn to that paint scheme.

tr1cky 02-26-2010 03:36 PM

Perhaps its a sign of a bad economy. Where I grew up any body shop would walk you right out of the door if you made a request to defile a luxury vehicle.

I'm very disappointed with the ethics of any "professional" that would accept a job like this from a customer.

tr1cky 02-26-2010 03:37 PM

I do kind of like the change to later style headlights.

leathermang 02-26-2010 03:39 PM

UH.... I thought when you owned a car you were allowed to pay some professional to paint it like you want it... of course that sometimes involves advertising the fact that you have NO TASTE.... LOL

leathermang 02-26-2010 03:40 PM

Maybe that was all the ' anti- theft ' package he could afford...
Who would steal that car with it painted that way ?

Ah, that is precisely my point a "professional" would turn someone away for requesting such a hideous paint job.

leathermang 02-26-2010 03:52 PM

I can not ' go with' a paint shop having the responsibility of determining the colors a customer's car is painted... the quality of the application ---yes... but not the final decisions on the car owned by someone else... this is still a free country in most respects.

Graplr 02-26-2010 03:53 PM

FAIL.

Squiggle Dog 02-26-2010 03:57 PM

That is the way I would want a W116 300SD painted, only in dark brown and beige.

UriahT 02-26-2010 04:23 PM

The title of this thread is completely misleading.
I can't "think" when I look at that car.

tbomachines 02-26-2010 04:33 PM

Looks like a good time to run away from it. I'm willing to bet it is hiding a few pounds of bondo under there.

brownrice78 02-26-2010 06:42 PM

looks like a good taxi for africa.

I was thinking taxi also.

JB3 02-26-2010 11:13 PM

might be ok if it were actually a real two tone, instead of really a three tone. They needed to paint the plastic skirt. Like it is just does not work.

vwnate1 02-27-2010 01:12 AM

! GAHH !

Having lived in the Third World , I too also instantly said : TAXI !

It's prolly just another Barrio Bomber /Ghetto Hoopty Ride that's a POS and the owner actually liked that color scheme .

When I was associated with a Ghetto paint & body shop in the 1970's , I and the owner was routinely astounded at the people coming in looking to ruin an otherwise fine car with a garish paint job just so folks would LOOK at them .

Kinda sad but it's not your money so what of it ? .

:P

Alastair 02-27-2010 04:45 AM

Oh, gawd....

That is just 'Orrible....

FAIL--Big-time!

dcotejr 02-27-2010 08:43 AM

No accounting for taste, is there?

It also reminded me of third world taxis....

POS 02-27-2010 08:56 AM

Horrible.

scottmcphee 02-27-2010 09:23 AM

Hard to tell the quality of the job with 30 foot away shots...
Close ups are needed to check the job.

But that's as close as I'd want to get, to know the colors are not for me.

Maybe the chappy was color blind? And thought he was getting a bright green strip. But I don't even think that would be better, so it's no excuse either.

Mercy, take the post down!

scottmcphee 02-27-2010 09:24 AM

Anyone called Geoff at (707) 478-5106 to see what the hell he was smoking?

(pass it around man!)

micalk 02-27-2010 11:27 AM

A $3000 car with a minus $500 paint job?

1stbenznc 02-27-2010 11:53 AM

That is just WRONG!

Jeremy5848 02-27-2010 12:31 PM

I apologize for my fellow Santa Rosa resident's lack of taste.

Jeremy

djustin973 02-27-2010 09:21 PM

I never thought Id see an ugly w126. I was wrong.

rcounts 02-27-2010 10:03 PM

<retch><gag><ptooie>

Either of those colors on the same car would look great. Both of those colors on the same car look HIDEOUS!

Jerry_W 02-28-2010 01:06 AM

"Do not get annoyed when some one acts like an idiot. It banishes doubt and misjudgement."
Same goes for taste I quess.

layback40 02-28-2010 05:07 AM

Maybe he had a few pressure cans of paint left from his last graffiti job on a train. Had to do something with them.

Squiggle Dog 02-28-2010 10:28 AM

I really don't think this is in bad taste, but I wouldn't have used that color combination. I saw a W126 at a wrecking yard in black and grey two-tone and I think it looked great.

sasquatchgeoff 02-28-2010 11:21 AM

Ick - and NO - its not me.... :)

My painter will paint a car any color or style the gangsta wants.
Money is ALWAYS green.
