yet another 240D rust repair thread

Here I tackled a rusted area on the hood of my car. It's kind of a strange spot for rust to develop. Is this a common problem on the W123?
The pics show initial rust, rusted area cut out, the patch I fabricated, the inner hood support de-rusted and painted with weld-thru primer, and the patch tack welded in place.

Here the patch is all welded up then metal finished. Note the effort made to make the plug welds look like original spot welds on the close-up photo. Probably a bit overkill but I couldn't help myself!
