1983 300SD beige with GRAY bottom? - PeachParts Mercedes-Benz Forum

My 300SD is beige. I believe it was resprayed at somepoint years ago, but they did a good job. The door jambs engine compartment etc. are all matching. Although the underneath of the trunk is gray. I'm not sure if that is just the way they came from the factory. I have the palomino interior. My question is did this car really come with a beige upper and gray lower? Wouldn't it make sense for the lower to be brown, dark beige or something in the brown family? I'll attach a picture. It looks like the lower half was painted also. I am thinking about repainting it myself. Just looking for a stock color that the car possibly came with. The beige and gray just look like crap to me.

All 126's pre facelift, came with grey lower mouldings. Only difference was sometimes they had a darker grey but mostly a lighter one like yours.

Yes, gray bottom is factory.

I can't stand having a beige car with a gray bottom. I painted mine up last night with a factory brown color for the bottom. It'll take a little while for me to get used to it, but I've already received some compliments. Let me know what you think.
