SS Fender Trim w201
 

So my 86 w201 body has bad wheel arches on both sides in the back.

Here in NE the whole body has a limited lifespan, so Im wondering about using SS trim on the rear, and painting it to match the body. I dont like the stainless look, but painted would probably be ok.

The supplier states that the available trim is only for 89 and up w201. THe questions is whether I can ignore them and install on the older body trim. I know that the only difference is the cladding, but is that a deal breaker?
