1985 190D needs front end repair

Wrecked my front end Sunday afternoon. Came around a blind corner, driver in the other lane didn't see me and pulled in front of me to make a left turn. Destroyed my right headlight and fender, bent the hood, did some serious damage to the frame. Haven't gone through the insurance runaround, but they will probably declare it "totaled" and pay me off for a replacement. Car still drives so I plan to buy it back.

Looking for anyone in NorCal who can carve out the section I need from a parts/junkyard car and possibly do the repair as well. Can't say at this point what I can afford, but I can at least offer W123/W201 parts. Might even give up the OM617.952 engine that I was gonna drop in my 1983 300D Euro!

I live on the Mendocino coast, 3-4 hours north of the bay.

Damn

Sounds like you came out of it okay, although no doubt a little shaken. How many miles on your 190? Is that 40mpg's I'm reading on your byline?

222k miles. Achieved as high as 42-45MPG last year, lately it's been closer to 37-40 since my speedometer is off and the differential and/or left rear wheel bearing start groaning at lower speeds than before so my shifting habits have changed. Barely felt anything during impact, aside from that sinking feeling that comes with realizing my beautiful car just got smashed.

Does your buddy have connections in California? I'll have to dig around for that thread.
Click here for more photos (for a better/closer look at the damage). The section I need appears to be welded to the subframe and goes back as far as the top of the wheel well.

Looking to buy a nautical blue hood as well (1985 or newer for monowiper clearance).
